Pre-requisites Smart Address Autocomplete Extension for Zoho CRM

Smart Address Autocomplete Extension for Zoho CRM streamlines your address entry process using Google Places API. This guide will help you set up the extension, configure your API keys, and start using location intelligence in your CRM.

1. You must be the Zoho CRM's Super Admin.
   
2. A Google Cloud Account with an active billing profile. (Google usually provides a free monthly credit that covers several thousand address lookups).
   

Step 1: Get your Google Maps API Key

1. Go to the Google Cloud Console

2. In the top project dropdown, select an existing project or click New Project if you don't have existing project.

3. Navigate to APIs & Services > Credentials.

4. Click + CREATE CREDENTIALS and select API key.

5. Copy the API Key generated. You will need this for Zoho CRM.

6. Recommended: Click Edit Key and under "API restrictions," limit the key to only the APIs listed in Step 2 for better security.

Step 2: Enable Required APIs

For the extension to work, you must enable three specific services in your Google project:

1. In the Google Cloud Console, go to APIs & Services > Library.

2. Search for and click ENABLE for each of the following:

   • Maps JavaScript API: Renders the interactive map.

   • Places API: Provides the autocomplete search suggestions.

   • Geocoding API: Converts the selected location into Latitude and Longitude coordinates.

Step 3: Install the Extension

1. Log in to your Zoho CRM account.

2. Go to Setup (gear icon) > Marketplace > All.

3. Search for "Smart Address Autocomplete Extension for Zoho CRM".
   

      4. Click Buy Now/ Start Free Trial.

      5. Review the terms of service, select the Users/Profiles who should have access, and click Confirm.

Step 4: Configure the API Key in Zoho CRM

Once installed, you must enter your Google Places API Key:

1. Upon successful installation it will ask to enter Google Places API Key. Kindly enter API Key and click on Finish.

2. If you skipped above step then go to Setup > Marketplace > Extensions > Installed.
   

3. Find Smart Address Autocomplete for Zoho CRM and click Configure.

4. Locate the field labeled "Google Places API Key".

5. Paste your API key (from Step 1) into this field.

6. Click Save.
   

Step 5: How to Use the Extension

The extension is available in Leads, Accounts, Contacts, Vendors, Quotes, Sales Orders, and Invoices.

1. Open a Record: Click on any record (e.g., a specific Lead).

2. Launch: Click the Search Address button in the top right menu.

3. Search: In the popup, start typing an address in the search bar.

4. Select: Choose the correct address from the Google dropdown suggestions. The fields (Street, City, Zip, latitude, Longitude etc.) will auto-fill.

5. Verify on Map: View the pin on the map. You can drag the pin to fine-tune the location if necessary.

6. Toggle Address Type: If you are in the Accounts, Quote, Sales Order or Invoices module, use the toggle to choose between Billing or Shipping address.

7. Save: Click Save Address. The data will instantly sync to your CRM record.
   

Step 6: Localization & Auto-Language Detection

Smart Address Autocomplete Extension for Zoho CRM is designed for global teams. You do not need to manually change language settings; the extension handles this automatically:

• User-Based Detection: The extension detects the Language and Locale settings of the specific Zoho CRM user currently logged in.

• Automatic Translation: Labels (Street, City, State, etc.), buttons, and success messages will automatically translate into:

  • English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Arabic, Hebrew, Russian, Chinese, etc..

• RTL Support: For Hebrew and Arabic users, the interface layout will automatically flip to Right-to-Left (RTL) mode to match native reading patterns.

• Address Intelligence: Search results are preferred in the user's local language where available via Google’s database.
  

Step 7: Uninstallation

1. Go to Setup > Marketplace > Extensions > Installed.

2. Locate Smart Address Autocomplete for Zoho CRM.

3. Click Uninstall.

   • Note: Uninstalling will remove the extension's interface but will not delete the address data already saved to your CRM records except Latitude and Longitude. Data of fields Latitude and Longitude will be removed completely.
